The
Deposit Ops & Payments
Triage

ONLINE CONFERENCE | SEPTEMBER 16 – 17, 2026

Back for another year. Reimagined for what’s next.

Drive Efficiency – Fine-Tune Performance - Fuel Innovation

Formerly known as Operations Compliance Triage, this program returns in 2026 as The Deposit Ops & Payments Triage – bringing fresh perspectives, expanded coverage of payments risk, and a renewed focus on the operational realities financial institutions are facing right now.

Our team is actively developing this year’s agenda, but if last year is any indication, attendees can expect practical, high-impact sessions designed to help them manage risk, improve efficiency, and stay ahead of a rapidly evolving landscape.

Built for where deposit operations is going

Deposit and payment operations are no longer just about keeping things running. They are central to how financial institutions compete, manage risk, and serve customers in a digital-first environment.

This conference is designed to help you:

  • Strengthen regulatory alignment while improving operational performance

  • Navigate the risks tied to faster payments and evolving technologies

  • Connect compliance requirements with day-to-day operational realities

  • Think more strategically about the future of your institution

Last year’s attendees  learned how to tighten regulatory alignment with compliance essentials like Reg E, Reg CC, and Reg DD; while also exploring how to manage risks tied to digital payments, the evolving financial ecosystem, and shifting workforce dynamics.  Every session was engineered to help you shift your financial institution forward into the future – faster, smarter, and more connected.

What to expect in 2026

We’re building on that foundation with new topics, updated perspectives, and expanded coverage of payments risk and operational strategy.

Stay tuned. More details will be released soon.

2026 CONFERENCE AGENDA

DAY ONE:
SEPTEMBER 16,2026

If it feels like the deposit, ops and payments landscape is changing fast, you’re not alone. Innovation is accelerating, fraudsters are adapting, payment modernization continues to reshape the industry, and regulatory priorities seem to shift almost as quickly as the headlines. Blink, and you might miss something important. Finding the time to step back, connect the dots, and focus on what really matters isn’t easy, but that’s exactly what this session is designed to do.

Join us for a fast-paced briefing that cuts through the noise and zeros in on the forces shaping the industry, the risks gaining momentum, and the opportunities your institution can’t afford to overlook. We will separate meaningful trends from passing headlines, connect emerging risks to real-world operational impacts, and highlight the issues every financial institution should have on its radar.

In this session, you will learn how to:

• Separate the developments that deserve your attention from those that are simply making headlines,

• Analyze emerging technologies, payment innovations, fraud trends and regulatory activities that are most likely to impact your institution today – or tomorrow, and

• Lead with the clarity you need to develop a practical watch list of the issues, risks, and opportunities every deposit, ops and payments professional should be following over the next year.

Remember when we thought checks were on their way out? Well, the criminals missed that memo! Today’s check fraud schemes are fueled by organized criminal networks that combine mail theft, social engineering, check washing, remote deposit fraud, money mule activity, and AI-enabled deception to move funds faster than ever. By the time a fraudulent check is identified, the funds may already be gone.

Sophisticated fraud rings have transformed one of the oldest payment methods into one of the hottest targets. Join us as we decode the latest check fraud playbook and explore how operations and compliance professionals can keep pace. We’ll examine emerging fraud schemes, evolving regulatory expectations, and practical controls that can help your institution detect fraud sooner, reduce losses, and respond with confidence.

In this session, you will learn how to:

• Identify the characteristics of suspicious checks and transactions by recognizing common signals and indicators encountered by frontline and operations staff,

• Understand the complicated legal framework governing check fraud, including key obligations and responsibilities under the Uniform Commercial Code (UCC), Reg CC, and the Bank Secrecy Act (BSA), and

• Develop practical response strategies to assist customers affected by check fraud while strengthening fraud prevention, employee awareness, and institutional resilience.

Deposit insurance backed by the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC) is one of the most valuable protections that banks provide, helping safeguard customers’ hard-earned money. Explaining who is insured, for how much, and under what ownership category isn’t always straightforward. This session begins with a closer look at how FDIC deposit insurance works, the questions most often asked, and practical approaches for explaining coverage to avoid costly misunderstandings.

From there, we’ll turn to the digital side of deposit insurance. There have been a lot of twists and turns the last few years relating to the new FDIC Official Signs and Advertising Requirements. This session will address the latest rule changes, effective April 1, 2027, and what they mean for your website, mobile app, account opening process, ATMs, and marketing materials. We will also cover the FDIC’s Part 328 Questions and Answers to be sure you understand how to implement the latest changes. Separating fact from fiction and highlighting common compliance pitfalls will provide the actionable guidance you need for keeping your institution on the right side of the rules.

In this session, you will learn how to:

• Take the guesswork out of FDIC insurance coverage for calculating common ownership scenarios, and help customers make informed decisions about their deposits,

• Clarify the requirements for the new FDIC Official Signs and Advertising Requirements and get ready for the new compliance date in 2027, and

• Recognize where institutions are most likely to stumble and avoid those common pitfalls by strengthening your FDIC insurance and advertising program.

DAY TWO:
SEPTEMBER 17,2026

Consumers don’t care whether they’re talking to a person or a bot, they care about whether they get the right answer, and get it fast! Behind every AI customer interface is someone trying to solve a problem, open an account, understand a disclosure, resolve an error, or file a complaint. As financial institutions embrace artificial intelligence and other emerging technologies, what hasn’t changed is the need to deliver accurate information, provide consistent customer support, and mitigate consumer harm.

We’ll follow the customer journey to explore where AI is already making a difference, from marketing and account opening to customer service and complaint management. Along the way, we’ll examine where chatbots, large language models (LLMs), robotic processes, automation, and other AI tools can improve efficiency as well as where they can introduce compliance and operational risks. The result is providing you with a practical road map for putting AI to work without losing sight of the people it’s meant to serve.

In this session, you will learn how to:

• Identify where AI and automation can improve marketing reviews, customer communications, complaint management, and other consumer interfaces while supporting stronger customer outcomes and experience,

• Mitigate emerging consumer protection risks while using AI involving chatbots, disclosures, advertising, and complaint handling before they become bigger problems, and

• Walk away with practical ideas for using AI responsibly throughout the customer journey while balancing innovation, compliance, and consumer trust.

Money is moving faster than ever, and the rails underneath are multiplying quickly. This fast-paced, plain-English session explores the modern payments landscape, beginning with the fundamentals of ACH and Same Day ACH. From there, we accelerate into the “instant” rails that are currently reshaping the industry. This includes The Clearing House’s Real-Time Payments (RTP©) network and the Federal Reserve’s FedNow© Service, both of which support $10 million transaction limits and run 24/7/365.

From there, we tackle the topic everyone is asking about: stablecoins. With the GENIUS Act now law and more than $300 billion in stablecoins already in circulation, we’ll answer the question directly, “Why should your institution care, and what role might you play?”

We close with the topic that keeps payments and compliance teams up at night: the new rules. We break down Nacha’s 2026 ACH risk-management and fraud-monitoring requirements, the ISO 20022 data shift, and the fraud trends targeting instant, irrevocable rails. You will leave with a clear map of the rails, a working understanding of the latest rules, and a practical sense of the trends, risks, and opportunities ahead.

In this session you will learn how to:

• Navigate the frontier of modern payments by understanding the core U.S. payment rails, including ACH, Same Day ACH, RTP, and FedNow, and the difference between “faster” and “instant,”

• Describe how real-time irrevocable payments and 24/7 settlements are changing fraud risk, liquidity management, operational processes, and customer expectations,

• Articulate why stablecoins and the GENIUS Act matter for deposits, payments, and the strategic direction of financial institutions of all sizes, and

• Recognize key industry trends and compliance developments, from Nacha’s new credit-push fraud-monitoring requirements to the ISO 20022 data standard, and translate them into meaningful action items for your institution.
